I have left this piece in my inbox for days now, just looking at it whenever I log in. The contrast of the drab background and the bright colors of the subject really draw me in. The sweeping brush strokes really give a lot of detail to the hair without having to draw every strand, and I love the idea of the rings being bound into the hair. The coloring of the skin makes me wonder if it was originally tan or blue, though in my mind I feel it is blue, like Shiva from Final Fantasy X.

Overall, I think the simplicity of the detailing really allows the viewer to see this through their own filter, making it whatever they need it to be.
