Im not even going to lie, i think i enjoy the "step 4" more than the final piece. There does seem to be some proportion problems in the piece obviously, but thats not such a big deal, im sure it will get better over time and practice. When i look at the final piece, i get this feeling of a painting that is trying to be great but is held back due to some awkwardness in the face of the girl. Her eyes could be a bit wider, and her mouth seems a bit off. Have you ever tried flipping the painting inside Photoshop? It helps, if not, it helps with noticing proportions in the body as well as composition. Though i have been ragging just a bit, it is a nice piece, and better than i can currently do ^_^; so job well done. I mostly wanted to say how much i enjoyed the step 4. You should consider using it as a piece in itself. I know some people might consider it un-finished, but it gives the painting an extremely interesting look, and lets the viewer piece together some finer details themselves. anywho have a good day! good stuff! btw im going to do this tutorial! if it turns out ok maybe ill show you O_o
oh yea this looks like a girl version of Darius from League of legends haha.
I love the image! So spectacular, your work. But in this tutorial it is like those 'how to' books that jump forward too much. It seems more like a lighting tutorial. Just as an example; she didn't have much of a face, and the next panel she did. But that is not to say that this is bad either! I really liked seeing some of the steps you use to make this. Great job ^^
Depends on what program, tool, and settings you're using. If you have it, try using a smudge tool at a low (10-30%) opacity. Then just go over the spot a few times. That should be an easy way to get a smooth blending.
